News from Member Organisations March 2022 - Switzerland

News from Switzerland

The Swiss Association topic for 2022 is:

Digitalization “see the chance – get involved”

Digitalization influences our activities and thus also those of the people who receive occupational therapy treatment. What opportunities and dangers arise from digitalization? How do computer assisted therapy methods support us? What is it like to be treated via telemedicine? The Swiss Association will discuss this important subject with their members with the input of articles, podcast and in workshops.

COVID 19 News:

From the 1.1.22 the cost for outpatients psychiatric treatment via telemedicine continues to be financed. All other treatment for telemedicine is not financed by the insurances.

New brochure: “Therapy via telemedicine” is published:

The Swiss OT Association are pleased to present a new important brochure that explains how the therapy can be implemented via telemedicine. This provides us a valuable document for the future.

Improvements to the Accident, Military and Disabled Insurance Contract

The Swiss OT Association are pleased to announce that they have been able to implement various important adjustments in the Accident, Military and Disabled Insurance contract, starting on the 1.1.2022.

More medical treatment is not always in the interest of the patient:

In Switzerland a campaign called Smarter Medicine has been initiated. It is called “choosing wisely Switzerland”. It publishes recommendations on medical measures that draw attention to failure in a treatment and to overprovision of medical treatment. The Swiss OT Association have set themselves an aim to release a top 5 list with recommendations for occupational therapy treatment by 2023/2024.
